Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Lead to join our small but mighty team as our first full time infrastructure expert. In this pivotal role, you will be our "master of nodes", leading and owning our validator operations, where we manage +$1M in stake and growing, with plans to 100x it by end of 2025. We expect your primary focus to be our Ethereum operation, but you'll also be expected to take over our multiple mainnet and testnet validators running on other chains.

Your primary responsibility will be to deploy, manage and monitor our validator nodes across various blockchain networks, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and resilient. Additionally, you will have the possibility of building open source tooling to helps us operate better while benefitting the broader community. This is a high-impact position offering significant agency and autonomy, where you will shape the future of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Deploy and Manage Validators: Stand up testnet and mainnet validators and other nodes on Ethereum and other blockchain networks.

Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, alerting and paging systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.

Security and Resilience: Enhance our infrastructure's security measures, ensuring safety and resilience against potential threats.

Automation and Reproducibility: Automate repetitive tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reliability, embracing an "as code" approach.

Tooling: Develop new tools and contribute to open-source projects to improve our validator operation.

Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest developments in blockchain protocols and technologies to ensure our infrastructure remains cutting-edge.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and best practices so anyone in the team can step in when needed.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and service interruptions.

Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years as a System Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, or DevOps Engineer.

Blockchain Knowledge:

Deep knowledge (or interest) in blockchains, particularly Ethereum or other POS chains.
Ideally, running an Ethereum node is not your first rodeo.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficient in scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Rust, Python, Nix, Ansible, Terraform).
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
Comfortable with bare metal infrastructure while minimizing reliance on cloud platforms.
Ideally, expertise in deploying and managing nodes on various blockchain platforms.

Security Focus: Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in infrastructure.

Productivity:

Able to pragmatically prioritize and make the right trade-offs to move with agility without compromising reliability.
Experience leveraging LLM based tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Warp) to achieve more with less.

Location: Based in Europe.
